Document Reference Check
We need to check your documents
As a DVLA registered number plate suppler, it is our responsibility to check your legal entitlement to the registration you are asking us to manufacture. This page allows you to securely provide 2 document reference numbers that prove your
name & address, and entitlement to the registration. These reference numbers must be traceable to you (the consumer) and can be obtained from us by the police, the DVLA or the DVSA without notice at any time for any reason. We are required by law to collect this information from you.
Why do we do these checks?
As a DVLA registered number plate supplier, we are legally obligated to check that our customers are entitled to the registration they are asking us to manufacture. These checks help reduce car cloning and related crimes.
For more detailed information from the British Government, please see the INF136 and INF195/2.
How are the checks undertaken?
Under normal circumstances, we need to see original documents to record the reference numbers. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are unable to accept documents via the post, as our staff are working from home until further notice and do not have the professional facilities required to handle these sensitive documents.
Instead we are asking our customers to use this secure page to provide the reference numbers of the documents that prove name & address, and entitlement to the registration.
